Windmills

How to practice and begin a windmills. Great beginners guide for first timers that are trying to learn.

Step By Step:
1
Practice getting into a "handglide" position and supporting your weight with only your left hand and toes keep your entire body straight, legs spread wide use your right hand to balance and push/pull yourself around.

2
Practice "collapsing" down pushing forward into the ground with your left hand use your right hand to balance yourself if necessary. Your weight should be almost entirely supported by your left hand. Try to have your upper and lower body hit the ground at the same time. The "collapse" should be relatively soft and painless.

Practice leaning forward onto your head. Practice swinging your left leg from this elevated position. Pull your right leg up to allow your left leg to swing under while still keeping your legs spread wide. Kick your left leg upward while you are rolling on your back as if you were trying to kick your face. If all goes well your left leg will create a strong rightward pus as it swings up.

4
Practice going from your swing to your "handglide" position, using your right foot as leverage. Try this step slowly and try to really understand the motion. By returning to the "handglide" position, the windmill can be repeated continuously.

5
When you are ready, try to transition faster by collapsing quickly and swinging harder. The motion should be smoother and easier over time. Practice returning to the "handglide" position and collapsing quickly. Swing your right leg to gain the leverage to continue without having to use your right foot.

6
Practice swinging both legs at full strength, one at a time. Congratulations, you can now do windmills!
